Hustle & Disco Line Dancing at Griffith Park + Free Theater Tickets
Y'all know that sometimes I get some of the more unusual teaching
gigs, right? Well, this latest one is actually kind of fun. There is a
theater group performing out of the Wells Fargo Theater up at the
Autry National Center (Gene Autry Museum) at Griffith Park, right
across from the LA Zoo. The play is a comedy sponsored by Native
Voices entitled "Teaching Disco Square Dancing to Our Elders: A Class
Presentation" by Lisa Fasthorse.
The producers thought it would be a fun tie-in to bring in a dance
teacher to teach an actual disco line dance to theater-goers before
the play for the next three Saturday nights - February 16th, February
23rd, March 1st. So here's the drill - immediately outside the theater
is a huge open plaza - And I teach a 30-minute disco dance from
7:10-7:40 pm in that plaza, then the play starts at 8:00 pm.
I just heard from the producer, Jean Bruce Scott - If you attend on
any of the nights I'm teaching, just tell the box office you are a
"Trish Connery Dance Chatter Dancer" and you'll get into the play for
FREE!! Wells Fargo Theater, 4700, Western Heritage Way, Los Angeles,
CA 90027. LIMIT 2 PER PERSON
Show up early and we can do some Hustle dancing before the disco line
dance class! I'l even throw in a Hustle class if you want!
