Hi,

My girlfriend recently got a Yamaha PSR-E303 digital piano and we have
been looking for good books that will help her learn playing it better
and also appreciating classical music.

Although I admire classical music, my listening has been limited to
Beethoven's sonatas---played by Alfred Brendel---and his symphonies.
In particular, I am completely ignorant of well-known writers and
celebrated literature in this field.

It would be wonderful if someone on this group could suggest some such
books. We're looking for books that could serve as an introduction to
playing classical piano and playing it on a digital keyboard, but also
books that touch upon, say, the history of music with the
piano.

[I am posting this message here, after posting it once on
res.music.classical, but without any response.]

Thank you,
Girish.

Repeated notes: which piano pieces use them?? At the Eastman School of Music my teacher, Eugene List, taught me how to play repeated notes, i.e., the same note (key) played a number of times in a row.
