Tchaikovsky's holiday favorite, done with great panache, charm and
wit. Combining the zany hilarity of Spike Jones with the class and
craft of Duke Ellington, Shirim recasts the Nutcracker as a Hanukah
classic conjuring images of a dancing Potato Latkes Queen and marching
Macabees. Tchaikovsky's original is turned upside down with a
