Why didn't she do more with that WHOREHOUSE Tony? I saw her at the
Actors' Studio in THE COUNTRY GIRL.

Greetings:

I've always wondered that, myself. However, her children were quite
young during "Whorehouse," and in Larry L. King's brilliant book, "The
Whorehouse Papers," Glynn mentions that the Actor's Studio helped keep
her sane while she was busy raising children. I always assumed she put
her career on the back burner and spent most of her time being a mom.
She and hubby Peter Masterson did okay, though - I recently read that
they sold their NY apartment for over 10 million dollars...to hear
King tell it, nobody would ever have thought that "Whorehouse" would
have become such a cash cow!

Incidentally, I really recommend King's book, if you can get your
hands on it. It's the best account of bringing a musical to life that
I have ever read - though Carol Hall is portrayed in a very
unflattering light, which I do not think is very nice. I studied with
her and found her to be delightful - but then again, I was not
wrangling with her over money, a situation that can strain even the
best of relationships...King portrays himself as a real jerk with
serious alcohol problems, which is refreshingly honest. I don't know
how anybody could stand to work with him, he sounds like such a
bastard!

Cheers!

Yes, I read it before I played Ed Earl twice--the second time opposite
my wife.
