Hi all,
Just wanted to let you know I saw Mandy here in Rochester, NY a couple
of weeks ago. A remarkable performance. Just himself and his marvelous
accompanist. Two pieces stood out for me:
1- Brother, can you spare a dime? Gut wrenching, never really heard the
song in this light before. The tragedy of the depression came through.
2- Harry Chapin's "Taxi" I never really thought this was that good of a
song before he sang it.
Also a lovely Sondheim medley and lots of other Sondheim, so I really
enjoyed that.
If you get an opportunity to see him in your area, don't pass it up.
Matt
