Hey Everyone,

I (Mike Eads) will not be teaching next week 2/8 at the Hacienda Hotel
because I am part of the Hooray for Hollywood dance event. I Have
asked Trish Connery to sub for me. Please go and join her wonderful
teaching style next friday.

I will be back to teach at the hacienda sometime in march.

I did not consider myself 'out of the loop', so to speak, until I read
there was a local (for me) event called "Hooray for Hollywood" next
week. Has it been advertised and I missed it? This must be the only
dance-event/venue E-mail list that does not include me Smile

Miki, I'm informed that I was misinformed. This is a mixed WCS and Hustle
event. And, from the looks of it, Debra and Maer have put together a fun
time. .

Hi Ed .....I realize now it is primarily Hustle; however, on their
website it says,
"Hooray for Hollywood Dance Festival Hustle and Swing". I don't mind
dancing WCS to Hustle music.... Smile

It was a great time and amazingly successful for a 1st year event! Top WCS
Stars and evenyone who is anyone in the Hustle World was there.

Hi John -- I love Deborah and was planning to be there for one or two
nights.......I regret I listened to several in our WCS community (not
those who post on r.a.d.) who discouraged me with information that it
was a big Hustle event with attendees coming from far and wide and
that I would be out of place as far as WCS was concerned. They did not
do this with any malicious or mean intent against the event or Deborah
and Maer, who are the best of the best in every way; it was
misinformation given to me by dancers who saw my inquiry post here,
but who were not posters on r.a.d, and who were looking to help me.

I am delighted it was "amazingly successful".......possibly, there was
not enough information for the event promoted within our local WCS
community.

Next year....... Smile

To Ed: I missed your second February 01 post. I am seeing it for the
first time as I write this post -- when I checked the Google r.a.d
topic list for the latest thread posts, it was yours with the same
date and I did not realize it was a new one.

I'm happy it was a great success. We planned to attend on Saturday night,
but Jay had a relapse (flu) from playing too hard on Friday night, and she
spent Saturday and Sunday too sick to go out and play.

Yup...next year.

Well before then Debra's going to do something that I don't think has ever
been done before. Each year at the Halloween Swingthing, the Irvine Hyatt
Regency has had additional Ballroom space that has gone unused. Last Fall I
called Debra and asked if it made sense for her to do a Halloween event and
use that additional space, thus "Hustle Halloween" was born.

Many events have had 2 rooms with different dance forms in each, what will
be different is that this time it will be 2 completely separate events, each
with their own space, Staff and schedule. The Halloween Swingthing and
Hustle Halloween will be running simultaneously and your wristband will work
in both events.

Halloween Swingthing will have the same staff as last year with Phil Adams ~
Skippy Blair ~ Robert Cordoba and Deborah Szekely , Ben Morris and Melina
Ramirez ~ Jordan Frisbee and Tatiana Mollmann ~ Jessica Cox and Parker
Dearborn ~ Martin Parker ~ Kyle Redd and Sarah Vann Drake ~ Sonny Watson ~
Carlito Rofoli ~ Jackie Ford ~ Gary Jobst.

Hustle Halloween will feature Debra Hampton ~ Michelle Adams ~ Phil Adams ~
Raul Ante ~ Mike Eads ~ Billy Fajardo and Katie Marlow ~ Cesar Recaurte ~
Martin Parker.

Debra will set her schedule so that the contests in the Hustle room are
during open times in the WC Swing room so that contestants can compete at
both events! The flyer for "Hustle Halloween" debuted over this last weekend
at "Hooray For Hollywood" to much excitement in the Hustle community.

Sounds just great!!!!! WCS and Hustle together side-by-side.....it's
a match made in Heaven.
