Greetings:

Indeed, he was great in "All That Jazz." The whole cast of that movie
is great, come to think of it. It could have been one of the best show-
biz films - too bad so much of the movie is so self-indulgent. Still,
the opening audition scene is one of the greatest scenes in movies, I
think...especially when the camera pans back and you see the hundreds
of people all doing the same dance step - really brings home how tough
the business is...unfortunately, the movie loses me when Ann Reinking
comes out dressed as a vein or corpuscle or whatever the hell that is.

Cheers!

That one scene was much more effective than the entirety of the CHORUS
LINE film, IMHO.

Oh Gosh! Them's were the days!

Open cattle call auditions of hundreds, culled without mercy. Watching,
and quickly learning the steps, then waiting for your group/number to be
called, all the while calculating in the back of your mind how if you
got the gig you could pay some bills! *LOL*

Only other scene that comes close IMHO, was the audition scene in the
film "Good-Bye Girl".

Yes. Dorothy Stratton (sp?) and Paul Schneider.

I could never understand the casting in that and the TV movie
neither actor was anywhere nearly as beautiful as the real Dorothy
Stratton, what was even worst was MS Heringway getting a boob job
for the film.

That's because the CHORUS LINE film forgot that it was supposed
to be based on that one scene.

Michael Douglas and those two new songs didn't help.

Not to give my very own "Star 80" more ammunition, but Paul Schneider
was Jewish! eh
