Does anybody here know of some small electronic device that could fit
unobtrusively in a hand and act as a sort of tuning fork to help getting
that first note right for those of us not having a perfect pitch? I'm
sure there are many would be Karaoke singers who could carry a tune if
they could get that crucial first note correctly.

Thanks for any tip you might have about such a device,
Rudy

There's tuners available for Guitars and other instruments that fit
in the palm of the hand. Some of them have an input jack like that of
your Karaoke Mic., some have a built in speaker that plays and you
play your instrument and listen for a difference, while those with an
input (for the guitars) have a mic and tell you on a graph how far off
you are.... Any Music shop should help you there. Although if you
just want to play a note, you can basically generate a .wav file and
record it to a Micro Cassete tape, then hold the Micro Casette tape
(or mp3 player even!) in your hand or on your belt, etc. and try it
that way.....
