I am in the same process as your are and will
share what I have found with you.
First off, you will need a CD drive that can read
a CD+G (karaoke) disk. From my searching I have
found that Plextor is probably the most highly
recommended CD drive for this. I am going to be
buying a PlexWriter 24/48/24 that is capable of
reading and burning a CD+G disk. Here is a link
to the CD/R drive I am going to be getting...

This drive is capable of reading a CD+G and
burning one. And right now after mail in rebate
is only $64.
After you get the CD drive you will need a program
to actually rip the CD+G disk, there are a couple
of ways to go.
Since you will be storing them on your hard drive,
you will want to convert the CD+G disk to MP3+G
files. Here is a link to program that will do
that....

There are several other programs out there that
will rip a CD+G to a MP3+G, just do a Google
search for "MP3+G" and you will get tons of hits.
After you have the MP3+G on your hard drive (or
burned on a CD) you will need a karaoke player to
play them. Again there are several different
player, again do a search on Google and you will
get lots of his. Some cost money, there are even
free players too. For example here is one from
TriceSoft.....

Now for an additional route you may want to go.
If you want to make an actual copy of a GD+G disk
you will need the program called CDRWIN from
GoldenHawk. Here is a link....

There are several other programs out there that
will do what you want, with a little searching, I
am sure you will find the right one for you.

Anthony
