Hi,

I'm interested in buying and using KJPro to keep track of my MPG/ZIP
songs and create song books. I have nearly all my music on MTU's
Hoster, but will be moving to something else. I will have to buy the
converter from MTU (@!#$% proprietary formats!), but I'm done paying
for their upgrades to get a system that is almost usable.

So, once I convert all my songs to the MP3+G/zip format, is there a
way to have KJPro just look at my harddrive and import them in? Or do
I have to type in every song? Is there a third party solution? If
the answer is not good, then what other alternates to KJPro are there?

Thanx,

Jussy

I've been using two excellent programs for what you are trying to do.
And they are definitely not expensive.
After you have all your zip files in folders you could use KJ File
Manager to edit the naming convention of not just the zip files but
also the mp3 and cdg files within them all at once. It is an
indispensable program for large collections on hard drives (internal
and external)
Once you have all your files cleaned up and named consistently in the
format you want you can run the second program called Song List
Creator.
This program will run through all your karaoke zip files and generate
a data base. Then you can export it in the listing format you prefer.
Such as Disc - Artist - Song Title. You can create your own disc
numbering system also. It can then be exported to a Word document or a
PDF file which you can use to print books.
For more information go to: http://www.latshawsystems.com/Default.aspx
I know these programs will become like your right arm. Many KJ friends
of mine wouldn't be without either one of them.
PS : They are both available in trial versions so you can test them
out before you invest. After one week I couldn't help myself. lol

Can't help you with KJPro, but FastTracks Pro has such a function. As far
as I know, the demo version still has no functionality limitations (except
the small demo database), just a time limit, so you should be able to give
it a try before you decide.
